OSRS Ironman Clans: Learner Raids & Finding Your Fit
Find an OSRS Ironman clan for social play, PvM and learner raids. Compare Ironman-only and mixed clans, check requirements, and agree loot rules before joining.

The right OSRS Ironman clan gives you people to ask, learn with and return to after a long grind. You can join a community while keeping your account’s Ironman restrictions. Start by deciding whether you want an Ironman-only clan or a mixed clan that welcomes irons, then check its active hours, entry requirements and approach to learner raids.
This guide is for early-game Ironmen looking for company, mid-game players preparing for group PvM, and raiders who want regular teammates. Clan examples and game-rule references were checked on 26 October 2026. Recruitment details can change, so use each profile to confirm the next step.
Can Ironmen join clans in OSRS?
Yes. Ironmen can join clans, chat with other members and take part in activities their account mode allows. Joining a clan does not remove your trading restrictions or turn a regular Ironman into a Group Ironman. A clan is a community; a Group Ironman group is a separate account-mode team.
For regular Ironmen, clanmates cannot simply trade over spare gear or supplies. The practical benefits are advice, company and teammates for eligible group content. A helpful clan can review your setup, explain a mechanic or help you plan your next unlock while you earn the items yourself.
Ironman-only or Ironman-friendly: which clan should you choose?
An Ironman-only clan restricts membership to the account types named in its recruitment rules. An Ironman-friendly clan may also include mains. Neither label tells you how often people teach raids, whether your time zone is covered or how a new member is treated. Ask about those things separately.
- Consider an Ironman-only clan if you want most conversations and events to centre on self-sufficient account progression. Confirm whether it accepts regular, Hardcore, Ultimate and Group Ironmen.
- Consider a mixed clan if you enjoy a wider social group. Look for clear support for irons: suitable learner setups, explicit loot rules and events you can participate in.
- Guest in the clan chat where permitted. Visit during the hours you normally play and see whether people answer questions and organise the content you want.
Finding a beginner-friendly or mid-game Ironman clan
You do not need a raid completion to start looking for a social clan. Individual clans set their own requirements, and admission to the community may be separate from admission to a particular raid team. Ask about both before assuming a listed total-level requirement means you are ready for every event.
Early-game players should look for a place where questions about quests, travel and supplies are welcome. Mid-game players can be more specific: name the boss or raid you want to learn and show the equipment you actually own. A teacher can give a more useful answer from that information than from “am I ready for PvM?”
- Ask when the next learner session is, who leads it and how to reserve a place. “Learner-friendly” is a useful starting label, but a scheduled session gives you something concrete.
- Check gear requirements for the exact activity. Ask which substitutions the teacher accepts instead of assuming you need every upgrade on an endgame setup.
- Confirm how long sessions usually last and whether attendance is optional. A group you can join regularly is more useful than an impressive calendar you cannot attend.
- Ask about voice chat: whether listening is enough, whether a microphone is required and how instructions are shared.
Can Ironmen raid with mains?
Regular Ironmen can participate with other account types in raids such as Chambers of Xeric, Theatre of Blood and Tombs of Amascut. These activities have exceptions to ordinary Ironman group-loot restrictions. That does not mean every boss allows an Ironman to receive loot when someone else helps; check the rules for the encounter you plan to do.
For an Ironman learner raid, agree on three things before starting: the mode or difficulty, the setup you are bringing and the loot arrangement. Ask whether the run is intended to teach mechanics or finish quickly. A group farming completions may have different expectations from a teacher taking someone through their first attempt.
Ironman raid loot: agree FFA or splits before the run
FFA means “free for all”. In raid recruitment, an FFA arrangement commonly means each player keeps their own awarded drops and does not receive a share of someone else’s. Splitting means sharing the agreed value of eligible drops. These are team agreements; do not assume every clan uses the same default.
A regular Ironman cannot receive an ordinary coin trade on that account. Some players use a separate main account for agreed splits; others want FFA runs. Tell the organiser what you can do before joining. Clarify whether the agreement covers every unique, excludes particular drops, or treats duplicates differently, and keep it in written chat.
If a team requires splits you cannot cover, look for a team that explicitly accepts your arrangement. A clear agreement lets everyone decide before time and supplies are spent. A helmet icon alone does not explain your personal loot preference.
Group Ironman clans: keep your group and clan separate
A Group Ironman team contains two to five players and has its own trading and storage rules. Joining a larger clan does not add those clanmates to your Group Ironman team or give them access to your shared storage. A clan can still be a place to socialise, get advice and meet potential teammates.
If your group wants to preserve Group Prestige, check before accepting outside PvM help. Doing certain activities with players outside your group, including Chambers of Xeric, Theatre of Blood and Tombs of Amascut, can remove Group Prestige. Read the in-game warning and agree the decision with your group before entering. Social clan membership itself is a different matter.
Hardcore and Ultimate Ironmen: tell the organiser your mode
“Ironman-friendly” is not a promise that an activity is safe for every Ironman variant. Hardcore and Hardcore Group Ironman death rules differ, and Ultimate Ironmen have additional storage restrictions. Name your exact mode when joining a session and check its encounter-specific death and item rules. Choose organisers who are happy to discuss those limits before you commit.
UK, EU, US or Australia: find a clan active when you play
If you are searching for an OSRS Ironman clan in the UK, ask for actual event times rather than relying only on a region label. The same applies to EU, US and Australian players. An international clan may have several active groups, or its raids may mostly happen while you are asleep.
Give your time zone and available days, then confirm the organiser’s time zone, including daylight-saving changes. Visit the chat at your usual playing time. Ask whether there is a recurring group you can join and who to contact when you are ready for your first session.
Ironman clan profiles to start your search
These are examples of different community types, based on their public recruitment descriptions checked on 26 October 2026. They are not a ranking or a guarantee of available raid places. Read the current profiles and confirm entry requirements, loot rules and schedules directly.
A useful first message to an Ironman clan
“Hi! I’m a regular Ironman looking for a social clan and learner CoX runs. I usually play Tuesday and Thursday evenings in UK time. I have no CoX completions yet and can share my current gear. I’m looking for FFA runs because I don’t use a main for splits. Do you have learner spaces, and can I guest in the clan chat first?”
Replace the mode, content and availability with your own details. If you are only looking for company while questing or skilling, say that. For Group Ironmen, add whether preserving Group Prestige matters. A specific introduction helps the recruiter tell you whether the community fits.
OSRS Ironman clan questions
Do I need to change account mode to join a clan?
No. Clan membership and account mode are separate. If you are considering changing or joining a Group Ironman team, check those account-mode rules separately; you do not need to do that just to join a social clan.
What are the requirements for an Ironman clan?
There is no single recruitment threshold shared by all clans. Some advertise no level requirement; others set total levels, gear or experience requirements. Check both the membership rules and the requirements for the specific raid team you want to join.
Do Ironmen have to split raid drops?
Your team’s agreed loot policy determines that. Find a group that accepts FFA if you cannot or do not want to split. Confirm the arrangement in writing before the run instead of assuming other players know your preference.
Where can I find an Ironman clan chat?
Open a clan’s recruitment profile and look for its in-game clan chat name and joining instructions. Guest access and applications depend on the clan. Introduce yourself during your normal playing hours and ask a recruiter about membership.
