Clan competition guide

Get your clan ready to compete

Set up your clan once, then enter the competitions you want to play. Here’s how to connect Wise Old Man (WOM) and make sure your members’ progress can count.

  1. 1

    Get your clan listing ready

Sign in with the account that manages your clan. Your listing must be approved before it appears in the competition’s clan picker.

If your clan already has an unclaimed page, submit a leadership claim from that page and follow the review steps. If it is missing, submit a new listing.

  2. 2

Prepare your Wise Old Man group

Find or create your clan’s group on WOM. Check that it contains the correct members and their current RuneScape names. Ask your WOM group manager to update the roster if needed.

Members should have a tracked WOM player profile with up-to-date stats before the competition starts.

  3. 3

Link WOM to your Clan Finder listing

In My clan, find the Wise Old Man section and select Manage. Search by clan name or clan chat, check the group’s name and members, then select Link.

Select Refresh and check the member count and Last synced time. If you cannot see Manage, ask the clan owner or a manager with listing-edit access to link it.

  4. 4

    Enter the competition

Open the event, select View rules, choose your clan if you manage more than one, and select Enter clan. Confirm the entry and look for Registered.

Repeat this entry step for each competition. Linking WOM alone does not register your clan. You can enter with a linked group; WOM validation may still be required before results are confirmed.

    Keep your members’ stats current

Ask members to refresh their WOM player profiles within 15 minutes of the event’s start and finish, and stay in the entered WOM group. Clan Finder refreshes the live standings hourly, so gains may take time to appear.

Joining after the start? Your clan receives a starting snapshot when it enters. Progress earned before that snapshot does not count. Check the event rules for its scoring metric and how many members contribute.

Something missing?

My clan is not in the picker

Check that you are using an account with access to the clan, that the listing is approved, and that its WOM group is linked. A listing still in review will not appear yet.

Only some members or no gains are showing

Check the roster and player stats on WOM, then Refresh the clan’s WOM link. Only positive gains from the event’s scoring period count, up to its top-member limit. Late entries, unranked players or missing starting stats may affect what can be scored. Allow for the next hourly leaderboard update.

Do I need Daily WOM event sync or a public roster?

Neither setting is required to enter a community competition. Daily WOM event sync imports WOM competitions into your clan’s events; public roster settings control what your listing displays. The community leaderboard tracks your entered clan’s linked WOM group separately.
